The Pioneer DDJ-REV5 is available in a sleek black-coated color.

KEY FEATURES

Large jog wheels and MAGVEL FADER for dynamic scratching

The large jog wheels exhibit responsiveness, dependability, and user-friendly operation, reminiscent of the classic CDJ units. Each jog wheel incorporates a display indicating the playhead position, ensuring constant track awareness. The MAGVEL FADER boasts a smooth, sturdy design, proficiently capturing even the slightest motions for precise scratching manoeuvres.

Additionally, the ability to customize the “Jog Feel” allows users to adjust the sensitivity or resistance of the jog wheels to match their personal preferences. This customization can enhance the DJ’s control and comfort while using the equipment.

Scratch-style layout for open-format freedom

The Pioneer DDJ-REV5 features elongated tempo sliders positioned horizontally above the deck segments. The mixer section houses the Performance Pads and Lever FX, strategically placed to facilitate dynamic performances. This arrangement mirrors the favoured setup of open-format DJs worldwide, reminiscent of the PLX Series deck + DJM-S Series mixer configuration. The close placement of pads, levers, and faders allows for seamless integration of scratching, pad play, and effects, enabling a harmonious fusion of techniques.

Here’s a breakdown of the features:

  • Long Tempo Sliders: The controller has horizontal tempo sliders positioned above the deck sections. These sliders allow DJs to adjust the tempo or speed of the playing tracks.
  • Performance Pads: The controller includes Performance Pads, which are likely touch-sensitive buttons that allow DJs to trigger various functions such as hot cues, loops, samples, and other performance-related features. These pads are strategically placed for easy access, potentially in the mixer section.
  • Lever FX: Lever FX refers to a feature that enables DJs to apply effects to their mixes using a lever-like control. This can offer a dynamic way to manipulate the sound during performances. The placement of the Lever FX in the mixer section suggests they’re easily accessible for real-time manipulation.
  • Mixer Section: The mixer section of the controller seems to emulate the layout found in the DJM-S Series mixers. This includes elements like the Performance Pads, Lever FX, and possibly EQ controls, volume faders, and other mixer-related functions.

Dedicated buttons for easy Stems control

Effortlessly make live mashups and remixes utilizing the Stems buttons incorporated into the Pioneer DDJ-REV5. Your tracks will be divided into individual Stems within the software which encompassing vocals, melody, bass, and drums in Serato DJ Pro, or vocals, drums, and other instruments (like bass and synths) in rekordbox which can be played individually.

  • Stems Mute/Solo: Instantly solo or mute distinct Stems for spontaneous mashup creation.
  • Stems Separate: Isolate diverse Stems from a track onto separate decks to curate live remixes.
  • Stems Level: Employ the EQ knobs to fine-tune volume levels for individual Stems.

New Auto BPM Transition for smooth mixing

Achieving a smooth blend of musical genres characterized by significantly distinct tempos becomes effortless with the innovative Auto BPM Transition feature. Select a specific number of bars for the transition, and upon pressing the designated button, the currently playing track will seamlessly adjust its tempo over time to align with the tempo of the track loaded on the alternate deck. This enables you to flawlessly mix or introduce the new track. Moreover, you have the option to activate Stems, Auto Loop, and Key Lock controls to remain in effect throughout the transition process.

New Piano Play mode for intuitive musical performances

Similar to the Pitch Play function, the 16 Performance Pads can be employed to initiate a cue point at varying semitone intervals. However, the recently introduced Piano Play mode restructures pitch variations in a manner that configures the pads into a layout resembling a piano keyboard. The lower row of pads represents the “white” keys, while the upper row represents the “black” keys. You’re given the option to select from 3 different scales, and even if you lack familiarity with musical theory or scales, you’ll discover that playing a melody is a straightforward endeavor.
